You know what you are getting: size, materials, finish and price, before work starts.

Proper framing

Good decks start underneath. Correct footings, bearers, joists and spacing keep boards flat and safe.

Tidy site

We keep the site neat each day and clear offcuts and rubbish at the end.

Decks that suit Brisbane living

Brisbane's climate makes a deck one of the most used parts of the house. Whether it is a raised deck off the kitchen of a Queenslander, a low deck beside the pool or a covered spot for summer evenings, the right design depends on how you want to use it, the slope of your block and the sun.

Timber choice matters here. Australian hardwoods such as spotted gum and blackbutt look great and handle the weather when they are oiled regularly. Treated pine is a budget friendly option for framing and some decking. Composite boards cost more up front but need far less upkeep.

Signs your deck needs attention

  • Soft, cracked or splitting boards
  • Loose or squeaky boards and popped nails
  • Wobbly balustrades or handrails
  • Grey, dry timber that soaks up water
  • Rot where boards sit on joists or near the house

Seeing any of these? Send us a few photos and we will tell you whether repairs will do or a new deck makes more sense.

Common decking questions

Timber or composite decking?

Hardwood looks and feels natural and can be sanded and re oiled, but needs regular upkeep. Composite costs more up front, does not need oiling and resists rot and splinters. We can quote both.

Do I need approval to build a deck in Brisbane?

Decks more than 1 metre above ground, or decks with a roof, generally need building approval in Queensland. Low decks often do not. We will tell you what applies to your design.

How long does a new deck take?

A simple low deck can take a few days. Larger or elevated decks with stairs and balustrades take longer, plus time for any approvals. We give you a timeline with the quote.

How often should I oil a timber deck?

In Brisbane sun, most timber decks look best when cleaned and re oiled every 12 months or so. Decks in full sun may need it more often.
